@Rubber_Ducky is an artist well known for their fantastic realistic paintings of eyes, sleek anime style art, and (of course) thier fondness of a very popular bath toy! Colors Gallery, feast your eyes on the very clean Rubber_Ducky!
What's the origin story of Rubber_Ducky? When did you start drawing?
"I started drawing when I was a child but I only really started trying to get better around 5 years ago when I found that I wasn’t learning anything in art in school, so I turned to teaching myself and looking at how others drew to improve."
Who or what are your biggest inspirations? Your sister @MentalMinty I'm assuming is one of them. Do you two push eachother to improve or have a bit of a rivalry like some siblings do?
"My sister has been a great inspiration for me and we definitely push each other to get better because we always ask each other for advice on most of our drawings. Another source of my inspiration is scrolling through instagram and Pinterest and seeing other artists great artworks."

Why "Rubber_Ducky"? I take it that you're quite fond of them?
"Haha yeah, I have been gifted a few rubber ducks in the past by friends and family which has made me fond of them, I also just really like ducks in general."
I noticed you bounce between realism and an anime-ish style from time to time. Is the transition difficult or does it come natural to you? What's your opinion on art styles?
"Jumping between an anime-ish style and realism comes quite natural to me, I think this is because I started with portraits and then I eventually got into drawing anime characters. When it comes to my realism style I’m quite happy with it but for my anime-ish style I’m quite experimental because I always want to try new things resulting in not one consistent art style for it."
How did you discover Colors Live & what do you like best about it? What do you think of the community and are there any features you'd like to see?
"I was introduced to Colors Live by my brother who sent me the launch trailer and then I had it gifted to me on my birthday. I love how easy it is to use Colors Live and the community is very talented and kind. One feature I’d like is a dark mode because I mostly draw during the night or I'd like to have some more layers to use."
How does Colors Live suit your workflow? What are your favored brushes/tool? Do you draw with any other software or mediums?
"Colors is my main way of creating art because it’s easily portable and even though I own photoshop I don’t use it much for drawing because it’s too complex. I have a few favorite brushes on colors, such the sketch brush, soft brush and hard lazy brush. Some of my favorite tools are undo, redo, and flood fill. I used to draw a lot with colored pencils before I started using colors but I don’t use them much anymore because of burnout. I do experiment with acrylic and watercolor paint for school work but they aren’t my favorite mediums."
Advice for beginners?
"Don’t give up. Even if you may not like what you’ve created you will improve, it just takes time and practice. And as I always tell my sister “trust the process.”
You've painted some really beautiful eyes. Are they your favorite things to draw? What else do you like? Is there anything you want to draw that you also find frustrating?
"Eyes are definitely one of my favorite things to draw because they are so detailed and every eye is different. They are great to draw for practice or if you don’t know what else to draw. I do also enjoy drawing anime/game characters and portraits. One thing I find frustrating but would like to draw is backgrounds/scenery, I just find them very difficult to draw."
"And many more but if I were to name them all you’d be reading the list forever haha. Favorite non- colors artists are illa.ohara nagihaha_ and cher.ryrm on instagram"

Do you have any art goals?
"An art goal of mine is to figure out a consistent art style I really like as well as become better at drawing better poses."
Discord question form @Lilyofthe328Valley:What inspired you to have the name “Rubber Ducky?
"When coming up with my colors account name I wanted something simple yet definable, and rubber ducky came to mind."
Discord question 1 from @razrdraws:May I ask, in your realism portraits, your art has a very unique ring that, instantly can be distinguished (in a very good way). So, my question is: What is the rendering process behind it?
"I start the rendering process by coloring the shadows, I then color the highlights. I use many different colors in a range of shades to achieve the effect I want."
Discord question 2 from @razrdraws:Hehe question that I'm sure you get a bunch- Where did the eye addiction come from?" "And how do they turn out so well?
"I got bored one day 3 years ago and didn’t know what to draw so I drew an eye and ever since I continued drawing them. That’s probably why I’m so good at drawing eyes."
Anyone you want to shout-out? Not necessarily a friend or a favorite artist.
"There’s many people I would like to shout out but 2 I choose to shout out is @crisreillo because their work is incredible and @MentalMinty because even tho she is my sister I see how much work and effort she puts into every drawing."
