@Mewsea is known for creating many incredibly awesome fanarts of Pokemon, Jujutsu Kaisen, Ace Attorney and more! Let's see what Mewsea is all about!
We see you, Mewsea! What should everyone know about you? What are your humble beginnings?
"Hi, I'm Mewsea. I draw just for the fun of it. Typically, I'll draw only fanart or things that I like... My style fluctuates a little bit because I constantly like to try new techniques. I also like to challenge myself on occasion and draw things I normally wouldn't draw."
"I think it was my sister that first got me started on drawing. Her passion for art was what lead me to draw like her. For many years, I wasn't very good at it...until I decided to buckle down one day and start learning the basics. And now - I wouldn't say I'm a professional by any means, but I'm a far cry better than I used to be. (Or, at least, that's what I like to think, haha.)"
A big anime & Pokemon fan I take it? What are your biggest influences or inspirations?
"Yup! How'd you guess? Hehe."
"I'm inspired by many things, but my friends and those I follow are my biggest influencers, I think."
"Basically, I like anything that catches my eye. (Like how squirrels are attracted to shiny objects, I, too, am attracted to anything aesthetic.)"
What's your favorite Pokemon generation? Favorite trainers or characters in general?Who are your favorite Pokemon and what is your ideal team?
"Haha, you're gonna regret having asked that. Now I won't shut up."
"I mean, I think my gallery and username pretty much speak for themselves. But just in case... My favorite Pokemon is Mew and my favorite trainer is Rika."
"Yeah... Rika... She's great..."
"Sorry, where was I? Oh, right. My favorite Pokemon generation. That would definitely have to be gen 2. No explanation warranted."
"Also, my ideal team would have to consist of my favorite Pokemon. So, Mew, Raichu, Charizard, Gardevoir, Milotic and my tubby cinnamon roll - Dragonite."
"Next question!"
How did you discover Colors Live? What do you like about the community? What features do you wish to see in the future? How does Colors compliment your style and do you use other software/mediums?
"I discovered Colors through an old app on the 3DS, known as Miiverse, way back in the day... At first, I was intimidated by the Colors community because there were many artists who were far better than me, and my coloring skills were sub par at best. It wasn't until years later after I improved that I decided to come back. Since then, I was met with so many lovely and encouraging artists that I decided to just...stay."
"I'm always surprised by how nice the people are here. It really feels like home, in a way."
"I don't think I have any ideas for upcoming features to be added to the gallery...especially since I draw almost exclusively on the 3DS. I also don't regularly use any other software or mediums, although I'd like to experiment with them at some point in my life, haha."
The way you draw and color reminds me of official Pokemon artwork! How did you achieve your art style? Did you study others intensively?
"Thanks! I study a lot. I learn through other artists, and through trial and error...and sometimes by just sitting there and observing the world around me."
Ash or Red? Who is the better or more iconic Pokemon trainer?
"Well, Ash is more iconic, but Red's cooler, in my opinion."
Colors art you're most proud of?
Shy (3D)... That one, I think. But honestly? I like most of my art.
Favorite artist on & off Colors ? How do they inspire you?
"Yeesh, that's a hard one... I have a lot of favorite artists... I've got artists who I follow because their art is downright gorgeous, and artists who I follow because their art puts a smile on my face. All of who are equally inspiring."
"But if I had to narrow it down to just a few, I'd choose..."
Any advice when it comes to art you'd like to give?
"A number people seem to think that you have to be able to draw anything that springs to mind to be considered a good artist, but that simply isn't true. Much like a violinist doesn't have to be good at piano, a portrait artist doesn't have to be good at landscapes to make a meaningful work of art."
"Just draw what you love or what you're good at. And if you want to improve in other fields of art, that's okay too."
If all of the evil pokemon teams such as Rocket, Galactic, Plasma etc had a battle royale who do you think would come out on top?
"Haha! There's so many Pokemon-related questions. I love it."
"Wait. Wasn't this a thing in Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon? I never played much of the battle royale stuff... But I think Team Rocket would win because they're the real og."
What's something you want to draw more but struggle with ?
"Detailed backgrounds and landscapes. For some reason, I can't find an interest in learning how to draw them... I like to admire other people's landscape art, but I don't enjoy drawing them for myself."

Any plans for the future?
"I'd love to practice more, especially in areas of art I'm more unfamiliar with... My goal has always been to draw for my own entertainment... But lately, I've been thinking how fortunate and grateful I am that others seem to enjoy my work as well. I hope one day I can inspire someone to draw, much like my sister did for me."
Discord question from @razrdraws:What are your immediate thoughts when starting a drawing? How do you structure your posing?
"My immediate thoughts are composition. I like to start with the placement of my drawing, and then work my way from bigger details to smaller details. This often includes basic shapes to begin with... Understanding how your subject pieces together is key."
Anyone you want to shout-out?
"Absolutely. I'd love to give a shout-out to @Puzzled, because they're simply too underrated for the amazing Pokemon fanart that they do, and to @SaltineCracker for showing such generous support for my art... And, of course, to my dear friend @PoodleKingdom, who has consistently been there in my time of need."
