How does Colors Live compare to Colors! 3D for the Nintendo 3DS?

The painting experience is much better in Colors Live thanks to the pressure-sensitive Colors Sonarpen. We have improved basically every aspect of the game, with more brushes, more layers, bigger canvas (2560x1440) etc. At the same time making sure the simple but powerful painting that Colors! 3D stands for is still there. We have a lot of ideas of what features to implement, some of which have been announced on the Colors Live Kickstarter.

Can I export paintings from Colors Live?

Yes, there are several ways to export paintings from Colors Live. The easiest way is to upload your painting to colorslive.com (privately or publicly) and access it in native resolution (2560x1440) on the colorslive.com webpage, just like it works for Colors! 3D. You can also export it to the
Nintendo Switch system’s album, which allows easy sharing to social media.

Do I need a Nintendo Switch Online Membership to be able to use colorslive.com?

No, you do not need a Nintendo Switch Online Membership with Colors Live. All online functionality is included in Colors Live.

Does Colors Live support layouts and configurations for left-handed artists?

Yes, Colors Live come with support for both left- and right-hand painting. You can use either the left or the right Joy-Con for quick access to the most important functions. Colors Sonarpen has a cable-length that allows anyone to paint comfortably (19.67 inch/50 cm) for either hand. On top of that the button configurations are customizable just as in Colors! 3D.
