The Wendigo
You sprint through the forest as fast as your body will allow. You don't know what IT is or what IT looks like, all you do know are the creatures cries are that of a demonic elk, and its making its way towards YOU! And that you NEED to get out of the forest before it can catch up.
You see the the shine of nearby street lights. If you can make it to that light at the edge of the forest than you should be in the clear! Pushing your body beyond its very limits, you're nearly there but in your tunnel vision you failed to see a large root of a tree that trips you up.
Unfortunately that lapse in your perception is all that was needed for the monster to overtake you. Then you see the beast looming over you, the Wendigo.
