As one who is constantly sharpening their claws as an artist, @meowi has been utilizing the power of their nine lives to pushing their art further in a style quite unique to themselves! No more cat naps, time to pounce on thier inteview now!
Who or what do you look to when you need inspiration? What would you say inspired your development as and artist or got you into art in the first place? What're your favorite franchises?
When I need inspiration lots of time I like to look at animals and bugs. Figuring out how to transfer patterns or weird appendages onto a more human like design is always fun for me.I would say what really inspired my development was just wanting to be able to make what I want, as I used to hate not being able to properly carry out my ideas.My favorite franchise is probably Sanrio since I love Hello Kitty.

How'd you end up making your way to Colors Live? What are your favorite aspects of the community?
When I first found Colors Live I was probably mindlessly browsing the eshop and got the demo of it. I think I deleted it as soon as I realized I needed an email to make a account. The second time I was looking for drawing games and decided to get it again on demo I drew a lot and bought the full game before I had my first account.
When I didn't have a account I would check accounts of artists I liked and wanted to befriend(I'm friends with them all now :] ). My favorite aspect of the community is how nice it can be! I've really only got positive comments on my art unless it was someone who didn't like me.

Digital art seems to be your specialty, but do you use any other mediums? How does Colors Live fit your artistic process?
I occasionally do traditional art but normally only doodles (although i'm currently in 2 art classes right now).Colors Live is great for my artistic process as it's quite simple but still has lots of stuff like zooming and the scissors tool.
Which art of yours gives you the most nostalgia? Which ones were the most challenging or are the ones you're most proud of? What challenges did you overcome while making them?
The art that probably gives me the most nostalgia is "meow"
It's the oldest drawing I have up on my current main account.
The art I'm most proud of currently is "ok hi yall don't fw tv girl like me."
It was based off a unreleased tv girl album I love. During the process of drawing the tv girl album I was struggling with trusting the process on the shading but it's wonky like that on the album art.
Favorite artist on and outside of the Colors Live community? How do they inspire you?

My favorite artist on colors is currently @qtm_o who is super underrated!

We're still waiting on switch 2 dev kits! For a potential Colors Live 2 or Colors Live switch 2 edition, what are your dream features? What's some brush or tool that you feel would really help take your art to the next level?
I think making your own brushes would be great but so would ones that are more textured like chalk almost. Also I think a great tool would be lots of the stuff that's in the colors quest, it would be fun to make your own challenges.
Your style is quite unique! It reminds me of a lot of the 90s to earlyish 2000s cartoons and some webcomics too. How did you develop your style? What made it the way it is currently?
Sometimes I like using moe art for examples especially in the eyes but my art has always been quite unrealistic and vibrant. Using my friend's art also helped me define my own.

What's an aspect of your art that you'd like to improve? What are your strengths and weaknesses?
I really would like for my art to be more detailed but I'm quite lazy.I think my strengths are choosing color and just doing whatever I would say my weakness is character design as I want them to be cool and complicated but if they are I won't draw them.

With a name like meowi, I guess it's no secret you're a feline lover? Do you have any feline companions hogging up desk space, stealing all the warm comfy spots, or just knocking random trinkets off countertops?
I used to have 4ish cats when I lived with my mom but during living with my dad I only had 1 who sadly passed last year. Currently I have one chihuahua named Bender after Bender from futurama. And to be quite honest I'm scared of cats currently and get nervous around them because I'm scared of getting hurt, but this summer I saved a kitten that wouldn't get out of the car engine area. I was scared of it scratching me because it was hissing but thankfully it didn't.

What's key to defining yourself as an artist in your opinion? How does one develop art that can stand out?
I think anyone can be a artist. The key is being human even if you think your art is bad and that you don't think your a artist what matters is the story behind it why is that line there.Even if the answer is you don't know that's ok I think it's great. To develop art that stands out just do what you want honestly do what you think looks cool or is cool.

What are some goals and aspirations that you have for the near or far future? How do you hope to accomplish them?
In the future I hope to be a youtuber and a vtuber I would also like to get good at animation I really want to try every thing artistic even music.I hope to accomplish my goals by the ego I get from being a artist and assuming my skills will come with me into other areas.

What's some crucial life advice that's got you through most difficult situations? What keeps one strong despite many challenges?
I would say stick with your real friends! All my friends have helped me through so much that I've gone through even if it just seemed stupid and small. Good friends will keep you strong, cherish them dearly.

When you feel burn out, how do you handle it? What for you takes the feeling of being burnt out back to a feeling of burning passion once more?
When I have burn out I ask my friends if I should draw then call them evil when they say yes .What I have works for me to get out of burn out is doing purposefully ugly art I don't care about preportions or anatomy realy i just do what seems fun.
