@kaya_b is an aspiring animator and an artist whose style is quickly recognizeable by their loose, sketchy lines packed with energy! Their art often looks like the storyboards of an animation and now it's time to learn their story!
Who is kaya_b? What should we know about you?
"Hello! I'm Kaya , I mostly make fanart for stuff I like. also, I'm learning to animate! :D"
Your style is so loose and refreshing! They remind me of detailed storyboards! What are your inspirations? How did you develop your style?
"Thank you :] I watch alot of animatics on youtube, and a few by Disney.
The unfinished art always seems to look good for some reason haha.
It's just cool looking! Plus, I don't like doing lineart.."
We see that you've mentioned that you're studying animation and that you shared one of your animations in our discord! Is being an animator a dream of yours? How has that journey been? What would you say is important for an animator to focus on ? What makes it different than a focus on illustration?
"It's a goal of mine for sure! I've only made two animations so far,
(both being about Spider-Man) but it's really fun! In illustrations you have to put alot of effort into one image. But because you have to draw so many images in animation, I tend to often just draw stick figures, and it still get's the movement across!"
How did you discover Colors Live ? What would you say is your place in the community? What do you like about Colors Live and what feature(s) would you like to see in the future?
"I found it through Ross Draws' video! After i watched it I went down stairs to tell my mum about it. But apparenly they had already ordered me it for Christmas?!
It had way more features then i thought it would too. I'd like a calligraphy brush,
Not that I'd do any calligraphy lol. It's just fun to draw with :]
and maybe a basic animation mode!"
Is Colors your primary art tool? How does it compliment your style and workflow?
"It is! It's my first time drawing with a screen! It's fun being able to move around with the switch. Drawing on paper is tough, because you need like a BILLION markers for each colour."
Colors art you're most proud of and why?
"I think my favorite would be the spooky ocean one!""

I don't really know! But after scrolling through who I'm following on instagram

Advice for artist of any skill level? What about for those looking to go into animation?
"I don't really have anything that hasn't been said but,
If you're new to art, don't focus on gaining a style. Learn the fundamentals!
It'll just kinda show up lol.
If you've been drawing for a while, don't be afraid to experiment!"
What's something you need and what's something you like but could do without?
"I NEED the Spider-Man game that's coming out. I like water but don't need it."
If you could visit any time period and do anything without accidentally messing up the timeline what time would you visit and what would you do?
"I'd go to the year 4023! I''d see what minecraft is like now haha. They must of updated the combat by then right??"
What are your goals for the future? What do you hope to accomplish with your current works and works in the future?
"I'm hoping to get to a point where my animations aren't basically stick figures!
Then maybe make a YouTube animated series. Having my family voice the cast would be really cool!"
