Colors Gallery, meet beep_

Always willing to try their hand learning and experimenting with new techniques to improve their craft, @beep_ is on an artistic crash course-- aiming to improve their style and make plenty of both friends and admirers along the way!

You could say that they're artist with plenty of drive! Now that the speedrun is over, let's speed through this interview!

Beep @beep_! It's time to go! Now tell us what we want to know, who are you?

First of all, hi to everyone reading this! Thank you for all the support I've gotten to become a weekly artist :)

I'm beep_ - I love trying new things in my art and I'm trying to find and develop my own art style! I'm always looking to make more art friends on here, so don't be afraid to comment or tag me in a drawing <3

Meet the artist <3 by beep_

Your gallery has so much variety! But even variety has a source! What are your interests? Your inspirations? What set you on the artistic path?

I take a lot of my inspiration from nature- animals, plants, scenery and anything that captures my attention while I'm outside. Nature is very beautiful in itself and I love capturing it in a painting!

The media I consume also influences my art - tv shows, movies, poetry, other art and artists, and anything that brings me joy! I'm not sure what set me on my artistic path because I've been creating art since I can remember ( my mum still has scribbles I did from when I was a toddler! ) but the happiness I get from making art has kept me going to this day :)

From 3DS to iOS ! So many platforms in so little time. But the important question is how did you come across Colors? What made you join and stick around? What do you like about it the most?

Funnily enough, Colors!3D is what convinced me to buy a 3ds, I was debating buying a 3ds back in 2022 and was looking at what games you could play on it. I saw Colors!3D while online, and I thought 3d art was a really cool concept.

Starting digital art was on my mind back then and it was the perfect opportunity ( and was cheaper than buying an ipad or a drawing tablet! ) , so I bought the 3ds! The community was so friendly and supportive when I first joined, everyone inspired me to keep creating and I've stayed ever since!

I think the best thing about Colors! is the gallery- I love sharing my art and seeing everybody else's art <3

Even with so much variety, there has to be a method to your madness! So spill it, what's your process? What kind of signal are shooting through your brains synapses when you're creating art?

First of all, I choose what I want to draw ( I sometimes have a photo for inspiration, one I took myself or otherwise, ) Occasionally, I start the sketch on a piece of paper because I find it easier than doing it on the screen.

Then I do the lineart and mess around with colours before I start colouring and shading . I like making art while listening to music and drinking tea too - it helps me a lot! Sometimes I just start drawing with no plan or idea and see where it takes me!

Do you have a clear favorite or multiple amongst your gallery? Which artworks do you feel embody your strengths(and quirks) as an artist the most?

I have a couple of paintings that are my favourites ( in no particular order !) - my favorites change all the time so this only applies to right now!

Sketches of my dog :) by beep_

I love these sketches I did of my dog, I'm very proud of it because I think it embodies his vibe very well :) I just like the colours in this painting and the simplicity of it :)

I don't think I do enough (semi)realism on here which is weird because I do a lot of it traditionally on paper.

Drawing this tiger was so fun and different then what I normally do digitally!

Now onto the others. Who are your favorite artist on and off Colors Live? What does an artist have to do that get your attention and admiration?

I could never pick a favourite artist on Colors Live - it would be too hard!

There are too many wonderful artists on here! My favourite artists are the people I'm following ( and if I'm not following you yet- consider yourself a future favorite :) )

the best feeling :) by beep_

My favourite artist outside Colors Live right now ( because it changes so often! ) is Banksy - I love messages behind his pieces and his intricate stencil work. An artist that has an unique artstyle and a story behind their artwork always captures my attention. I love artworks that have a story or reason behind them- it makes them so much more interesting to look at!

What's it gonna be for your top 3? What are your top 3 favorite Colors Live artworks?

Another boring answer ( I'm sorry! ), but I couldn't pick a favourite out of the hundreds of amazing paintings on Colors Live. I'm very indecisive when it comes to picking favourites!

Despite still being a user of Colors!3D and the iOS versions of Colors which are old, do you have any dream features in mind for future iterations?

I would like to be able to save colour palettes and to be able to type in the hex code of a colour on the colour wheel. I think it could be useful to keep colour consistency throughout drawings.

Since you're still a user of legacy version of Colors, what would you say you like most about them? Is it the simplicity and ease of use? Do the limitations teach you to do more with less?

On the 3ds, I love drawing on the dual screen - It is very easy to see what the overall drawing looks like when you are zoomed in. I like the simple layout and the 3 brushes, I feel the simplicity doesn't impact my art but it does force you to get creative when you want to replicate textures or a certain medium. It might take longer but you do learn new techniques!

What's your favorite or most memorable moment on Colors?

My favourite moment on Colors is when I got 100 likes on my painting for the first time - ' bye colors 3d:) ' and got the red and yellow star.

bye colors 3d :) by beep_

I wasn't expecting to get so many likes on such a simple drawing so it was a nice surprise! Getting a 100 likes was a big milestone for my artistic journey on Colors!

Outside of Colors, what other platforms or mediums do you use? How does Colors Live fit your process?

Outside Colors, I love using my alcohol markers and my coloured pencils together- I think it's a good combo! I love using acrylic paint and watercolour too :)

Colors!3d replicates the process of using pencil and markers very well but not watercolour. I think it would be very hard to replicate the process of watercolor digitally because of the way it bleeds and blends!

We hope 2025 has been treating you well! What has your year been like thus far? And what are your goals and plans for the future?

2025 has been amazing so far! My goal right now is to draw more and develop my style! On Colors, I would like to get the 500 likes bronze star and win the weekly competition - I've got to work hard to get there though!

Tips and tricks for upcoming artist? What words of wisdom do you have to spare?

Draw what YOU want to draw! Don't be pressured to draw what's popular because you know it will get likes- you won't develop into your own artist and it's more enjoyable! Also keep going, even if your art doesn't look the way you want it to- practice makes perfect :)

What do you do to go from burnout to back into an artistic bout? When you're tired or discouraged how do you overcome it?

Artblock is really annoying sometimes! I like to take a break from drawing and enjoy my other hobbies. Then when I feel ready to draw again, I start with really simple doodles and maybe do some colouring - I ease back into it, there's no point doing something challenging and difficult!

Looks like time has ran out! Before we go, who do you want to shout-out?

Shoutout to @AtomicNomic ! You keep me inspired and you have such a cool artstyle <3 It's always handy that I can consult you on my drawings in real life too! Also shoutout to @-zyik- for always answering my questions and picking me as a weekly artist!

Best wishes, beep_
