@Prisma_Nano is an anime artist with a cozy, beautiful style reminscent of shojo manga and anime. Their soft yet detailed style is worthy of much admiration and what better way to admire it than learning more about them in this interview! Now let's start!
Tell us about yourself! What should we know about you and where did you get your start?
"Hi! I’m Prisma_Nano ~ I’m a self taught artist with a number of hobbies - many of which relate to art in some form or another!"
School Girl by Prisma_Nano
Your anime art style is so crisp and polished! How long did it take you to get as good as your are? Was there anything/anyone you studied? What were your inspirations and motivations?
"I’m glad you think so haha - I’ve always had an interest in art as far as I can remember. I used to draw a ton of Pokemon in school but quickly fell in love with anime art style as soon as I discovered it so since then I’ve just been going at it."
"I enjoyed watching time-lapse drawing videos on YouTube but l really love the illustrations of Raemz! Her style and use of colours really stood out to me when I first stumbled upon her art. I hope to achieve her level of art someday!"
I see you've been posting to Colors for a good while! How did you discover Colors? What made you initially join the community? Are there any features you'd want to see in future versions of Colors?
"Yeah it has been a good while haha. I discovered Colors at its early stages of homebrew development on the DS. I drew on Colors for about a year or two before I eventually joined the online community."
"At the time I was very conscious about my paintings due to the level of my art skills but the community was very positive and welcoming as it continues to be!"
"I’m really looking forward to online collaborative drawing functionality if it ever becomes a thing! That would be the next best thing to monster hunting with friends."

How did you develop your art style?
"I feel like I’m still trying to develop and find my style but when I first begun drawing I would try to imitate the illustrations of my favourite artists and try to draw in their style."
"One of the features I think is really cool about Colors Is the ability to play back any painting and watch the painting process. I find it really interesting to see what artistic decisions the artist made during each stage of their painting and how the initial drawing compared to the final."
"I also used to draw with pastels so I think that was one of the things that affected the way I paint and blend colors."
Favorite artist on and off colors?
"Raemz although there are many other artists on and off Colors who are quickly becoming added favourites. Some off the top of my mind are @munin, @twarda, @mcollins, @hailis, @acchan, @fuu-min, @MEP, @RIECH there’s a ton more!"
Top 3 favorite colors artworks?
I don’t think I can choose a top 3 just because there are way too many awesome artworks to choose from!
What Colors art of yours are you most proud of? Any you would do over?
"Besides the post of link featured above, I was especially happy with how my card captor Sakura painting came out. I really struggle with perspective and foreshortening but I think I was able try get it just right (eventually lol). It was a request from a friend and I spent much time on it until I was satisfied with it."

"As for any works I’d do over, there aren’t really any."
If could visit any anime/manga or any fictional world, what would they be?
"I’ve been watching the now all time most popular anime “Frieren” so right now I’m inclined to visit that world haha."
Do you use any other software or mediums? How does Colors fit into your workflow?
"Colors had been my main drawing medium for the longest time until I finally decided to purchase my first graphics display tablet recently (and just in time for Colors pc beta!)"
"I mainly use Clip Studio Paint now but I still love the simplicity of Colors and being able to carry my 3ds wherever I travel."
Aizayap by Prisma_Nano
Nature vs nurture?
"Very much nurture."
Do you have any goals or dreams for the future? What did you always dream of doing as you grew up?
"I didn’t really have clear vision of what I’d be doing as I grew up though I did have a phase where I wanted to be a professional manga artist."
Chocolate or vanilla?
"I like both!… But if you want me to pick just one I’ll go with chocolate!"
"The couple people who have been following me since the start of my Colors! journey. I really have no idea why they followed me back then lol (my art was so bad haha) but they’ve been an encouragement to me so Id like to thank them (and everyone else for joining me on my drawing journey!)."
