@Micerainy may have lost all sense of perspective but one sense they have that’s perfectly intact is their sense for creating incredibly appealing art! Let’s get to know more about them and their radical artwork!
Don’t be shy like a mouse, tell us about yourself! What should the Colors Live community know?
“Hii everyone!!! I’m a relatively average young artist who likes arting.”
“That’s primarily it, I really like creating stuff!!”

Splatoon, Dandy’s World, Rainworld… you’re into quite a bit of fandoms(good ones at that…)! What other inspirations do you have and how did they influence your path as an artist? What got you into drawing in the first place?
“I’ve definitely been drawing for as long as I can remember! Making comics, goofy fantasy characters, some of it I look back and cringe at, but I’m really glad I went down an art route. “
“My digital art journey probably started around 3 years ago, there I also first started interacting on online forums and met some really inspiring artists. Throughout then, whatever I was into at the time greatly influenced my artstyle, for example: Rain World’s art got me to draw a lot more environments and experiment with lighting.”
“ I found that just absorbing a lot of art and a lot of info really helped me progress, like studying unfamiliar styles and breaking down steps I’d seen other people use.”

What would you say is the biggest challenge for you when it comes to art? Is there anything you’re actively working on that’s a weakness of yours?
“Oof, probably either burnout, or having a build up of things to do. I LOVE drawing art for people, and being a part of projects, but sometimes I put too much on my plate by accident. “
“Most of the time It’s solely related to school projects or stuff I’ve promised myself I’d make.”

How’d you get introduced to Colors Live? What made you join and what is it that keeps you coming back?
“I got Colors Live around 2 years ago on my switch, I was looking for something to draw on more often, and I wanted to test out how the tools worked!! I didn’t create an account until just recently.”
“ I think this is because I had stopped using Colors Live and really wanted to pick it up again– and because I was pretty satisfied with my current artstyle. I’m very glad I did, because I love the community! I’ve received a ton of amazing support, and I’m so glad to support others!! “
“Something about colors just feels very homey and less intimidating than other platforms for creating/sharing art.”
How would you describe your workflow and how does Colors Live fit into it? Do you use any other software or mediums?
“Colors Live makes it easy to draw digitally wherever I want, my usual setup aside from colors isn’t as mobile- but I equally prefer both :D. I do traditional art often as well, ranging from painting to random sketchbook doodles. Besides Colors Live, I usually draw on my laptop using the program Krita. As a trackpad and finger artist I’ve got fingers of steel >:3 (they somehow never hurt-- idk how).”

What’s your Colors Live dream feature?
“I’ve seen people suggest things such as more brushes, and while I think we’ve got a ton of cool brushes already, a few more could really spruce up Color Live’s capabilities!! I think it’ll also help out with line variation and whatnot.”
Your gallery is already full of quality! Which artworks of yours are your favorites and what was your process when making them?

I like these ones a lot because of the shading and rendering, I feel like these two seem more realistic looking than I was intending.

Who are your biggest influences? What artist are your favorites both on and off of Colors Live?
FAVE ARTISTS TIME!! I’ve got a ton, so these are definitely not close to all of them, but to list a few epic artists I look up to on colors:
And some of my favorite artists outside of colors:
Aaacandydraws
Spoopdeedoop
Revolvius
Orb/Orbs_Orb
What are your plans for 2025? Do you have any goals for the near or far future?
“Interesting question- I haven’t really thought about that! I haven’t been extremely hopeful this year, but I do want to change that. The only real set goals I have at the moment are personal checkpoints in life, helping people such as those around me, and finding more ways to express and define myself!!”
What’s the best advice you can offer an up & coming artist?
“TAKE IN INSPIRATION!!! That sounds a lil bit weird, but taking in ideas is just as important as practicing and drawing your ideas often. Inspiration for me often comes from other artists, absorbing and studying art helped me a whole bunch, and finding what I personally found aesthetically pleasing in different art styles. It really helped me differentiate what techniques I should develop and use for my personal liking!”

If your art had a flavor what would it taste like? The way you color seems like it would make your art taste sweet and slightly sour… Am I right?
“Ooh sounds deliciousss.. I can definitely see that, sounds about right!! Sour and sweet as a combo now has me thinking about candy hah!”

What kind of ecosystem would you create if you could creature in Rainworld? What would you create if you could creature your own creatures?
“I’ve always loved coming up with Rain World ecosystems and ocs! I do distinctly remember I recently came across a nest region idea I’d scrapped based on RW’s Vultures.”

Outside of art, what are your biggest obsessions?
“This is a bit of a hard question for me! I do a lot of gaming and have a few other hobbies and interests, but recently I’ve been getting into music. For a while I’ve been learning music theory, piano, and how to compose- though I’m mainly self taught sooo, not getting too far yet.”
How do you handle feeling burnt out? Do you push through, take a break, or wait to feel inspired again?
“To be completely honest, sometimes I tend to forget to take care of myself when I’m burnt out, though I find taking a break to be really helpful. Taking some time to be productive and do some work, or maybe catch up on a book or show I’ve been recommended is also a great method for me.”

What mistakes should a young artist avoid? What’s the most crucial for artistic growth, nature or nurture?
“I think one thing to note is that there is no right or wrong- and there is no exact formula to growth. The only guaranteed ingredient in artistic growth is time. And enjoyment!”
“If you don’t find certain exercises or art practices fun, then you don’t have to do them! Art is about emotion, both what we ourselves feel while making art and what others get from that.”
“ How do people feel when they look at your art? It’ll likely be influenced by how YOU felt while making your art. I know that doesn’t sound very helpful but it’s so inspiring to see how much soul people will put into their art, and you can tell they cared about the process. So the only mistake I would say to avoid is forgetting yourself in the process of drawing.”
