@Ecstasy_3rr0r makes no mistakes when making crispy artwork! They really live up to their name because seeing their art will cause many to feel a sense of ecstasy! But let’s not procrastinate, instead, let’s get to the interview!
@Ecstasy_3rr0r no time for errors! Tell us about yourself! Who're you and what should we know?
"Hello people of Colors! My name’s Venus and I draw a lot (if that wasn’t already obvious enough).”
“I’m just an American gal who likes cats and drawing.”
“Nothing too interesting to share."

You seem to be a fan of the "cool, laid-back, silver-haired anime dudes". Am I right? What would you say are your inspirations? What motivated you to take art more seriously?
"Yep, you are definitely correct about the “cool, laid-back, silver-haired anime dudes”.
(It’s also just anime teachers in general. I have absolutely no idea why.)
“My very first inspiration actually happened to be the anime My Hero Academia, and oh boy was my art terrible.”
“My inspirations have grown more as well since then.”
“What motivates me to continue taking art seriously are my passions and goals.”
“I want to be able to build a career I enjoy doing through my art that will get me places in life."

How did you discover Colors? What keeps you around and what are your wishes for the community in the future?
"I actually first discovered Colors through the How eShop while browsing around!"
“I ended up getting it for myself since it seemed fun and since I was getting more into digital art anyway.”
“What keeps me around is just how much I love using Colors.”
“Its simplicity and the perfect screen size of the Switch is just perfect for me.”
“My wishes and hopes for the community are for it to grow more, and in a more positive way."
So you use any other software or tools? What are your artistic mediums of choice? Any features you'd like to see in Colors Live?
"Colors Live is actually the only digital art software I use!”
“I also do traditional art occasionally as well, and my favorite medium with that is either charcoal or just a simple pencil.”
“A feature that I think would be cool on Colors would be textured canvases.”
“I think it’d be fun to give your art a more organic look by being able to change the texture."
You've got so much cool art surely it must be hard to decide what you like the best... Which art of yours is your favorite and why? What were the challenges you had to overcome when creating them?
"Since I couldn’t choose between the two, here are my current 2 favorites.”
“These ones are particularly my favorite because of all the details, colors, time I spent on it, and more. “ The Candy Crushers ★ by Ecstasy_3rr0r
Sensei x4 c: by Ecstasy_3rr0r
“More particularly for the second one, a challenge I had to overcome were the physical interactions between the 4 characters.”
“Something I find myself struggling with a lot is getting characters to be interactive with each other in a way that makes sense perspective wise."
What are your top 3 favorite artworks in the gallery?
Jack Sparrow by MJCloud
Aizawa (BNHA) by Bluilea
女の子 by OvOvO
“I find these ones to be very neat and awesome!"
Favorite artist on and off the Colors Gallery? How do they inspire you? And if it was possible to borrow a trait of their art to splice into yours for a day what would it be?
"I truly don’t have a “favorite artist” both on and off Colors, but there are certainly many artists I do like though.”
“What I find myself inspired a lot by is the general drawing style (like how they draw a certain thing).”
“A lot of the time I take inspiration from that and add my own twist to it to make it more my own.”
“If I could borrow a trait of many good artists I see, it’d probably be rendering.”
“Rendering is one thing that I feel myself lacking in that I see a lot of other people do very well at."

How you do your lineart is so crispy! What sort of art training did you put yourself through to achieve such fine lines? What's your overall process?
"I would say the “training” I went through was just practicing different line art styles and techniques until I found what I enjoyed doing the most.”
“My overall process can vary, but typically I start out with a rough sketch that I clean up before I start my line art on a new layer.”
“Sometimes my lineart also starts out messy before I clean it up, giving it that “crispy” look."

What's the biggest error a young or inexperienced artist can make when first diving into their art journey?
"The biggest error I've seen beginners make is looking down on themselves and comparing their art to other’s art too often, which I’ve first hand witnessed people fully quitting art over.”
“When you first begin art, you’re inevitably going to be bad at it, and I don’t think that’s what people fully understand or realize.”
“Everyone’s different, so the amount of time it takes for you to get good could be way longer or way shorter than someone else's time.”
“It took me years!”
“You also need to be consistent and dedicated in how much you draw as well, otherwise your progress will be slower and you may end up getting frustrated a lot over it."
What are your goals for 2025 and beyond?
"My main goal for 2025 and beyond is just to improve my art; moreso my anatomy, perspective, foreshortening, and more."
What type of anime are you into and what are your anime recommendations? What kind of of anime would you make if you could be a director or an animator?
"The only anime that I know actually all happen to be shounen!”
“The top 3 I recommend are Naruto, Welcome to the Demon School Iruma-kun, and My Hero Academia.”
“I happen to be a “manga-only” person, so I’d most likely end up actually drawing the manga itself more so than directing or animating it.”
“If I were to make one (which I actually am planning and working on doing now), it'd be a shounen with hopefully a cool story and characters!"

#WatDat ? Are you working on a comic of some sort of fanfiction? Can you tell us about it?
"I haven’t worked on it in a while, but yes it’s technically a fanfiction I’m making.”
“It’s mainly just a gag fanfic that I’m not dedicating much time to.”
“It was a completely random idea I came up with that I just decided to draw one day.”
“Maybe I’ll finish it one day, who knows."

How do you handle burnout? What are your tips for remaining consistent?
"To be frank, I don’t know if I’ve ever actually had a legitimate burnout before.”
“Yes, I’ve lost interest in doing art for some time, but never has it actually burnt me out or anything.”
“Art’s basically the only thing I do in my free time and it gives me so much joy that I couldn't imagine not doing it.”
“A tip I have for other people though for if they’re burnt out is instead of focusing on trying to create full pieces, focus on sketching some things out you wanna practice.”
“This can be anything such as trying to draw a character better, working on anatomy skills, perspective, etc.”
“You may even eventually find yourself drawing a full drawing again!"

Anyone you want to shout-out?
"I would like to give a shout out to all my followers for thinking my art’s good enough for a follow, even if I’m not too interactive.”
“I also want to give a more special shoutout to @-beep- for being my most interactive and supportive follower as well! (Thanks for that @-beep-!)"
"Also special thanks to you, zyik, for having me be artist of the week!"
