Oh the cubone theory started when hackers looked into the original pokemons coding and found out that cubone was originally supposed to evolve into kangaskhan. So they made a theory that follows that. The theory goes that that baby in kangaskhans pouch is actually a cubone but without the skull, but all kangaskhan mothers die so the baby kangskhan takes the skull and one bone of it's mother and wears it for protection. Eventually it's head gets too big for the skull so that's when it takes it off to become a fully grown kangaskhan. Pretty cool huh?
