My mom lost $800 to an internet identity theft scam and the company responsible is stalling in hopes that this passes soon so that they won't be legally responsible for protecting her online information. The bill would make it so she can't even sue them for selling her personal bank account information.
Besides, it's Earth Day, so a day where we don't use the internet in protest is a small price to pay.
