first of most of u know by now that my spelling sucks, so sorry:(
But this is a idea i had for a sword and belt, it will need a strong magnet but it is possible, i have tested this with a wooden sword and a plate of medal. just somthing i wanted to share :)

This is a great idea O-O But it has to be a very strong magnet or the sword will fall down because of it´s weight .3.

that is true, and the maget i have is graet, but this is only intended for a wooden sword, it might work with a normal sword but like u said its got to be strong

Or you put another magnet on the sword instead of the plate. The negative and positive pole would resonate with a greater force. But as long as it works with what you planned, it´s okay, neh? c:
