Din isn't an OC, Fire Red version was my first pokemon game and the Charmander was my choice. I named him Din, which is the goddess of power from The Legend of Zelda.(Even though he's male.) At a young age, Din was a great companion, raised him until around level90. I know it's all digital, but I've felt a bond between me and Din, similar to Ash and Pikachu. Our handheld adventure was worth it. Sadly, my game has went missing for several years, and I'm dying to reunite with my virtual partner.
