End BSL by KittyThreeSixty

Breed specific legislation has causes countless family dogs to be taken and put down just because they were or looked like a pitt bull. Ban the deed, not the breed. My Pitt mix is as sweet as she can be. Most pitts are loving and beautiful family members. Aggression is taught by bad owners. #BSL #StopBSL #Pitt #PittBull #AnimalRights #dog

I'm familiar with that and it makes me sick! Other breeds were bred for equal reasons and are statistically more dangerous, yet this doesn't happen to them. Something so unspeakable shouldn't be legal in a country that claims to be humane. Good work, by the way!

Thanks. They were trying to outlaw pitts in my state but it didnt pass. My Sasha is a big ol baby to everyone. She's even good with cats. I'll protect her from BSL no matter what. Pitts arent the only dogs affected by BSL. There are many breeds on the list.

Look up the Lennox case from Belfast Ireland. They took a dog from a disabled child then kept him in terrible conditions for years trying to prove he was a pitt. He never got vicious and died due to the government's abuse. The official report said his DNA contained no pitt bull lineage but he looked too much like a Pitt so they euthenized him. They didnt euthenize him though, they took his life by inhumanely mistreating him. We activists are still fighting Belfast and Boycott Belfast is still very active. We wont stop until justice for these animals happens.

I find it stupid how they put it down to breeding. Its purely down to how theyre trained. If theyre after dangerous dogs, why not dobermans? They're proven to have a genetic flaw that makes them snap at any time.

Exactly. Pitts get the worst rep of any breed but it's not their fault that cruel people train them to be vicious. They are depicted as naturally aggressive dogs but that's not true. My pitt will only show aggression if she senses Im afraid of someone. She only does a little growl to warn them not to hurt me. She's never even snapped at anyone. She's a big daddy's girl. She loves to play with my husband and snuggle me. She loves kids too.

Mm. I'm an animal lover, I have a dog and three cats. Though my dog is just a Chihuahua/dauchsund (however you spell it) mix. He hates people, but if they visit on a continual basis, he'll eventually get used to them. That's how he got used to us. But he's really vicious to strangers. He once nipped at my best friend's leg and I was tempted to kick him across the room, but I knew that'd hurt him severely, so I didn't do it. I hate animal cruelty, even though I sometimes feel hypocrytical. I see stray dogs and cats daily in my neighborhood, and it makes me wonder if anyone really cares... Thanks for sharing this picture. I hope some people realize how wrong this is.

There are still kind people who care. It helps me fight the good fight to know others feel the same way we do about protecting animals. We take strays we find and try to find them homes. Shelter pets are a joy to adopt. All my babies are rescues.

Usually slowly introduction to a non-threatening playmate, and and neutering can stop agression if it becomes a problem.
Leash laws where I live are stricter on pits, german shepards, and several other large breeds.
But that's to be expected, I'm not going to surgically cut my dog's claws off if my dog is too dumb to realize they're scratching me when pouncing for hugs
You teach them to stop jumping on people.
They both get along, cat hates them; Ugly drools, the other dog makes kitty defensive.
