I'm scared of spiders, but i LOVE grass-hoppers. I used to have a pet grass-hopper named Hopper. I fed him clovers and grass. But he died...I kept him in a big cheese ball jar, i punched airholes in it and everything. (the jar was washed out with water before i used it.) I took very good care of Hopper...He still died though...:( I also used 2 have a pet roach named Carl but mom made me flush it down the toilet! :( I've had many grass-hoppers but all of them died. The 1 that lived longest was Hopper.

I don't like ants but i now feel bad that i've smushed/stomped on so many... I just don't like how small they are and they're too hard to catch. (gotta catch all dem insects!) I did try to catch'em all when I was 10. I love grass-hoppers so much...

I watch where I step to avoid kiIIing any ants or anything on the sidewalk.

I've had some bad experiences with bugs myself. Angered almost an entire fireant colony. My mom had to take (most) of my clothes off (on the side of the road, mind you) to get all of the biting fireants off of me.
Of course, I do not hate or dislike the ants as a result. It was my fault, picking up the tire that their nest was under. XD (I was like, 4-5 years old when that happened)

When I was in 3rd grade I used to love bugs...I caught them every day, and would hold butterfly's on the palm of my hand....But now I get made fun of for liking bugs...they think I am a freak for what I did 6 years ago.....

If they call YOU a freak, then I don't even want to know what they'd call me. XD

Koro, alicorn guardian of the bugs! Some bugs are cute. Especially aphids!

I had pet snails.They lived in a jar with moss, grass and a party hat made into a hut XD. My cosin tossed the jar down the stairs, they died. : ( At least now 100s live in my fish's tank.
At least my mom got me fond of Black Widows. They seem so pretty to me.

Mosquitoes: They suck your blood and leave something behind.
Fleas: Biting dogs, cats, anything with fur.
Roaches: Not much harm, but like rats, they can spread diseases and get on food.
Flies:.........same as roaches, only more annoying with them buzzing around.
Spiders: Just a natural fear of them. Bad childhood experience.

I think thats it, any other bugs are ok like gra.sshoppers, beetles, and that thing that makes weird sounds.

I like jumping spiders, but I'm squeamish at the sight of orb-weavers and I'm TERRIFIED of black widows, brown recluses, and rabid wolf spiders. And how could you blame me for being terrified of a harmless wolf spider? Because one bit me in my sleep. My knuckle is scarred.

Wolf spiders are out to get me, I swear! We were in the kitchen. My kitty was playing with a branch from a grape, and I took it away from it only to notice it had shook off baby rabids on the floor! Like, ALL over the floor. I got on the table. My mom picked up a bag of dog food to check if there were more. When she turned away, I noticed right behind her was the big ugly momma spider, ready to bite; legs up and everything! My mom panicked and stomped on her a million times. We then stomped, swept or sprayed the babies away because the house always gets infested with wolfs every year(I know this was bad, destroying babies, but there was a million of them)

You're right, but hornets can get pretty nasty. Bumble bees and sun beetles are some of my favourite bugs.

I like to catch bugs, and let them go outside. because when they feel my presence they run outside. In culebras (remote island of puerto rico) I stayed maybe... 5 days and every morning I searched for some adorable insects my dad called "vaquitas" which means "little cows" in spanish. :]

I almost forgot about Rolly-pollies! I used to LOVE playing with them. Me and my cousin would like to let them crawl on our hands and watch them curl up into little balls! They're so cute! Rolly-poly...rolly-poly...it's so much fun to say. I can hardly find those little critters now...But i get happy when i do find them. What's the real name for rolly-pollies? I know that's not what their real name is, but what's the scientific name 4 them?

Roly-polies are not bugs, guys. They are crustaceans. You know, like shrimp, lobsters and crabs? They're only called bugs really because they're tiny, crunchy, and live on land. Just like slugs! They're not bugs either, they are mollusks, like octupi--but to be more specific, they're gastropods!

Also, they have many names. Potato bug, pill bug...but the scientific name is Armadillididae, respectively after the talent to roll up in a ball, like an armadillo.

I used to own slugs, pill bugs, and two jumping spiders. (seperately, jumping spiders are friendly and harmless to humans but they are known to mutilate other athropods. Spiders are solitary creatures.)

At least I have reason to be afraid of widows. Black widows can be fatal in three hours if untreated.

There are sow bugs too, who are very similar to roly-polies, but do not roll up into a ball. They just run away from you as quickly as possible XD

Jumping spiders are freakin' adorable to me. I love their little eyes. Boing!

Saw a few lizards outside, too.
Caught 2 green anoles(sp?). Took and sent a pic of one on SN!

Saw a skink too. They're fast little buggers, hard to catch.

Also, we have Weavers (Weavils?)... Y'know, the ones that look like big Centapides? They are FAST! And my bro had a jumping spider on his pillow, it jumped in his face and he freaked out! He hates spiders! XD

are nothing to me. I've seen my bro's pet turantulas; some have a leg span of 9-1O inches. (no kidding, I'm serious)

I know all about animals, I just don't show it. Anoles are very fast, I have them in my back yard because my backyard is like a mini forest almost. The grass is tall. I don't see snakes out, but I always see worms, moles, lizards, ************, slugs, pill bugs and what have you. I never see jumpers-- probably because they're teensy! Of course, my Gale was from the school garden--about a fourth of an inch size of my thumb and she grew! She's lost and most likely dead...

It freaks me out when I see them. I refuse to touch anything with them on it. (unless I have gloves or a paper towel)

I'm not sure why I'm so horrified of them.
I mean, I'm not even phased by huge spiders/snakes/other things. Huge tarantulas? D'aaaww. Ants? Nope. Wasps, hornets, yellow jackets? Not scared of them. Beetles with huge pinchers? I'll pick 'em up and hold them! Why am I so scared by a tiny little mite that can barely be seen by the naked eye?

To those who hate Widows,
I kept 3 as pets, their really pretty, and shiny! We have other spiders around our house, some of which were named before the rain washed them away.
My mom is terrified of crikets, yet she kept spiders as pets.

I'm not scared of snakes, there kinda cool, I just dont want to be bitten anytime soon, so I had to settle for fish, because lizers eat crikets, ma mom can't stand teh crikets! :p

Speaking of snakes, I found some ground snakes earlier. I found around 11 of them!
They are very cute, I should go catch another, take a picture of it, then SN it to you guys. XD

I love spiders, snails and caterpillars! And last summer we saw a giant grass hopper! It was so cool and we took photos of it... Yay!

And I almost forget frogs and lizards!

I love -almost- everybug that I've encountered thus far.
Only ones that I "dislike" are mosquitoes, fleas, ticks, basically the really annoying/bad ones.

As far as scaly (or slimy) critters go, I like them too, but as much as I like insects.
Snakes, lizards, frogs, etc.
I'll pick them up too. (if I know it's not dangerous)
If it's something that can kiII me, I'm not gonna mess with him/her. XD

I'm not scared of insects. Hornets and wasps are honestly kind of cute. Snakes and lizards? I'll adopt a little snakey if I could. Spiders? Don't mind 'em unless they're on my stuff, in my room or catch me by surprise. I've held a cutesey-wutsey tamed tarantula before. But cicadas...? Omg get them away, away, away from meeeee pleeeeease...

I'm severely allergic and just got stung by them eight times on my left foot around a month ago. I STILL can't walk well because of it.

Oh yes, I've had a bad experiences with ants aswell.

Had fire ants on most of my body, all of them were biting me. (Ohohoho, it burnt.)

I can understand why some fear certain bugs, because they've had some bad encounters with said bug in the past.
