You should be able to make tools out of obsidian. After all, it's the hardest mineable thing in minecraft.

@Pit27: That much is clear but they don't have any specific use. Wood mines stone. Stone mines iron. Iron mines diamond. Diamond mines obsidian. It would be a bit dull if obsidian simply allowed you to mine obsidian faster!

@-jack- well it cant mine bedrock, because that would ruin the whole point of bedrock. hmm.. i dunno, maybe they could add a new block to the game like titanium ore.

Obsidian tools would take longer to break, but then again the only use of a diamond pick would be just to mine obsidian.

i wish that you could make obsidian tools, but theres nothing NEW to mine. First you have wood then stone then iron and the diamond and maybe gold at some point (but gold is really weak)

GUYS! obsidian is slitly purple really dark purple but yes with unlest 2 peses to gether would make BLACK stuff so its correct trust me i see minecraft obsidian every day : .
