When thinking on what to paint to enter the contest, I asked myself, "What is 'the world'?" I then decided the answer to that question is that the world is not only the land of the Earth, but also all of its diverse inhabitants as well as life and the ability to sustain it. It is also the sociopolitical infrastructures that influence our lives. This painting is my attempt to represent all of that.
