He awoke as an infant wth no one around. He was raised by darkness, but when Ignis found out the darkness's tre intentions to use him as a k.iller towards all living things, Ignis fled the darkness towards the light. But the light was fire. fire helped Ignis clease his evil thoughts and desires. but he still has immence dark power within him. When he has too much within him, it comes out in the form of wings. He avoids flying because he dosn't know when his wings will disappear.
