That is a hardware issue. Happened to my ds lite and is starting to happen on my 3ds. You can re-calibrate in settings but if that fails your ds needs fixing rather then colours.

Colors! does this so that you can do stuff on the edge of the screen. The update gives you the option to make it even to your callibration (If this makes sense).
