Actually The ninetales from pokemon Is based off the japanese legendairy Nine tailed fox, The description in the pokedex actually is the jist of the legend, touching a tail results in a 1000 year curse. The one in okami Is more like the one described in the origional legend, except that it wasn't evil and destructive like in okami.
