Sitting here in this dark cave, most people would be frightened. Not me, i embrace the dark, welcome it, create it. I looked around examining the cave walls i had learned to call home. The walls and floor werent made of stone like you'd think. They were made of dirt with long grey colored grass sprouting from random places; digging my claws into the soil i felt the hard surface give way slightly. The cold dirt felt pleasent on my skin. I had just been out scouting the land for intruders and had come across three wolves. They had put up a fight but i had managed to drive them off. A crack snapped me out of my thoughts and i stared forward into the darkness and saw a wisp of fog swirling towards me /great/ i thought sarcastically /what does he want now?/ The only time i ever saw him was because either someone needed to die or his 'plans' were in turmoil and i had to go k,ill whoever was causing the problem. Both ways i was ki,lling someone.
"Exemplary!" It sliced through the darkness /uh oh he only ever calls me by my full name when somethings gone wrong, normally he just calls me Ex/ immediatly i erased all emotion from my face, i couldnt let him see pain in my face from the wound on my left side or i'd be sent back to the chamber. i shivered a bit, thinking about that place. i'd only been there a few times and didnt plan on going back. As the dark cloud wisped forward the dead grass stirred slightly but other then that everything was still. I straightened my back and stared forward as he came closer. The cloud was right infront of me now. It roiled and boiled, billoeing over its self. Then he started speaking in a sharp yet whispering voice that sliced through the dark cloud. "You failed" he hissed, the clouds forming jagged blade like shapes as his fury grew. "But i havent. There were three wolves and i chased them all off. I am positive they wont come back." I tried to keep all emotion from my voice but there was a hint of worry in it, i would pay for that (cont.)

"IDIOT" he spat at me "what have i told you about intruders!? They cannot no anything you should have ki,lled them!" "i-im sorry master, i will do better." he laughed sadistically "I think. You need to visit the chamber."
Walking inside i looked around at the familiar instruments, saw blades knives and needles all sharp with my blood. The metal door behind me clanged shut and a small creature ran forward, as it hit the light i saw it was a monkey /thats odd, thought i had wiped them all out slongside the humans/ i guess he had kept this one for a servant. He grabbed my arm and tied it to a chain then shoved me against a wall "holy crap' it escaped my mouth as i collided with the wall. this thing was strong. the monkey ignored me and tied the rest of my limbs to the stone. thats when he came. The fog entered my mind and his thiughts drove over mine. they filled me with rage and hatred and anger. my eyes rolled back just as a the saw blade drove into my skin. grinding and ripping my flesh apart. all i could do was hang there limply if i screamed he would bring out something worse. that, i knew. Then it all stopped and he came running forward, no longer sheilded by fog i could see him. a dragon, like me with red scales and no wings. "Intruders!" he raged and slapped me across the face. i stared blankly at him "where are they?" (cont)

i wandered through the strange dirt cave my thoughts were my only guide. /she's here, i can find heri know it, and we can go/ i turned the corner and something jumped at my. landing on my chest i fell backwards, and suddenly i was looking up at her face only she was different, a dragon, like me. She was black with red and purple design while i was pure dark blue. But never the less i recognized her immediatly "Crell." She stared at me showing no signs of recognition. i said it again. "Crell its me, Skaar, i found you finally!" she only dug her claws deeper "i know not of this Crell yiu speek of, my name is Ex." Shaking my head i bore into her lifeless eyed. She had to be there i couldnt loose her. I noticed her mangled foot. this was not a good place. "Come on Crell you've gotta remember! you have remember back when we werent dragons! looking down at me curiously she seemed to not have a clue what i was saying. "We were kids, you a golden Eagle and i a red tailed hawk. please you have to remember! What about your parents? they died when we were older, we flew away, dont you remember?? then, then we were cursed,it hit every one of us birds, condemned to be a wingless creature." i was reaching hysterics how could she not remember? looking at me i waited to see some sort of recognition "I should ki,ll you" she growled. looking around she turned back to me "Get out!" she yelled

running back to my cave i couldnt forget about him. Crell. that was supposed to be my name but he was wrong, he got the wrong dragon.
As i ran back laughter filtered the air. "Its time." He was suddenly there infront of me, smiling "time for our plan."
i knew the plan by heart, i had devised it. it would lead to the worlds end, the two of us would conjure up earthquakes and tornadoes, volcanoes and fires. That was my favorite part. i hated this world and all it had done to me i would be ready for that. Then after, we would form a new planet (cont)

i wouldnt leave this area, not after i had seen her. if she was alive we could release the curse. i remembered an ancient verse that said we had to redeem ourselves to turn back to our old form. i didnt no how we would that but the two of us would manage.
A fog suddenly rolled in and interupted my thoughts, lightning cracked and storm clouds blew in. Many thungs happrned right at that moment, a tornado ripped apart the cave i hid behind, lightning sprung a fire in the sorrounding forest and the Earth cracked open. Thats when i saw her, she was standing in the eye of a tornado, the wind seemed to part around her. There was another dragon beside her too. it looked like he was coaxing her along thats when i realized this was their doing. i hurled myself into the winds and hit the male dragon. This shocked them both enough to stop the tornado. I shot again and ripped at his neck, but he slammed my throat into the ground, i gurgled and threw up blood. Then heard a screem, turning i saw it was Crell or Ex. "TURN AROUND!" simple words. too late. he bit into my side and pain exploded in my bones. blood spurted onto the muddy ground and the dark night sky went blurry. He took another lunge, this time at my throat. It was deep, but i could still breath. Then i heard an explosion, and light blew apart the night sky. Slowly i stood up and saw the dragon laying on the ground burnt and charred, barely breathing, lightning, more powerful then anything had struck him.m"Ex....You...Fail...e..d." he gasped and choked his blood steamed out his nose and mouth. I turned back and saw her, saw that little spark in her eye, this was Crell. She was back.

Istood there amd couldnt believe what had happened. even more couldnt belive how blind i had been, at the fact that i hadnt seen how evil he was and had made me. i had done the right thing to ki,ll him, that i knew. (cont.last time i swear)

My eyes flew to Skaar, my Skaar, i loved him so much and didnt no how i had live four years of being a ki,ller, a destroying and had never remembered him. We ran to each other and i embraced him in a hug, our bloody bodies mashed into one. I didnt want to ever let him go. But we never get what we want do we? The ground shuddered and blew open. The crack i had made in the ground grew and seemed to chase us.we slipped apart and i let my words tumble out "I love you." He stared at me fear repeated in our eyes as we became air born. he mouthed the same words back to me. Tears fell from our eyes as we plummeted. Staring down i saw sharp rocks far bellow. But it was interupted by a fog. only a wisp of it but i could still here it. 'failure. you failed...." i looked at it and spoke only the truth to him as the cloud dissapeared. "If what i did was fail, then i never want to be a hero." he screamed it rage and dissapeared forever.
I was close to the ground. i new what came next, though i remembered the old verse about redeeming yourself. If that happened i could get out, fly away. i waited, waited to see feathers bristle on my back, to feel my wings grow back.but they never did. i was seconds from the ground and nothing. then i realized the world didnt want me anymore. did not acceot my life.
As my eyes closed i spotted a blur of red feathers racing towards me. A blur that was too late
