Some people bust out portraits like they're stick figures. I'm not one ofbthose people. I used a picture for the outline then spent roughly half an eternity on shading. By the time I got to the guitar I was pretty much done trying. The hand is a blur in the photo, too, but I won't lie and say I spent a lot of time on it, either.
