Agreed. Very few of the characters get any development at all.
Seriously, even SONIC himself doesn't learn anything! In every single game, he's always his "happy-go-lucky" self! No matter what he's been through!
Even after the fight with Black Narcisist in Sonic X (Yes, I used to watch it as a kid, shut up.), Sonic didn't bother to talk to anyone about it?! Sheesh! It's not like he'll be able to repress that memory for the rest of his life! He has to tell SOMEONE he can trust!
