You can see how I do hair shading when you watch the playback^-^

Oh! Well. I color in the basic color of the hair in the 3rd layer. Then, I do the shading in the fourth(skin tones and whatever else that's done in the second layer) Then when the shading is done, I just combine the layers. I make sure to take the fourth layer down to the third, 'cause if you do it the other way it'll mess up. :3 Then once I combine those, I bring the finished hair down to the second layer with everything else. ^^ Hope i helped .///.

It depends on the basic hair color. If it's black, use white. If it's brown, use light brown. If it's red, use light red. etc, etc. Glad I'm being helpful!:D
