Study real clouds closely, and view other artist's clouds. Put a bit of darker at the bottom of the clouds or the tops. Clouds are funny things, they are almost always ok no matter how you paint them. Thin, fat, fluffy white, grey, red, purple, dark grey. There was an artist who only ever painted clouds.
