A normal type eeveelution just doesnt seem right.. Either Flying or Dragon. Most likely flying.

That Sylveon is just adorable! Also i've heard that she will most likely be a light type, and the evolution will be gender based. Probably female.

There won't be a light type! People have been saying it'll happen since Dark was invented. Dark type translates to evil type in japanese and the "good" type is fighting as dark is like dishonorable fighting.
That said, I do think Sylveon is going to be female only with a male counterpart.

I was thinking Ghost to but after another look it doesn't look all that ghostly, Another reason is It's name. Sylveon's name comes from a sylph, a flying creature usually shown as women-like. Sylveon's Japanese name, Nymphia, (yeah they changed the spelling if you're wondering) is based on a nymph, a fairy-like creature. Fairys fly, and think of another fairy pokemon, Clefairy is Normal.

Yeah but Normal still might work as an unevolved Eevee can't use it's Normal typing in tournamets because it's low stats. With Sylveon being Normal, you'd have a good Normal Eeveelution with good stats and a wider movepool that is still imune to Ghost with only one weakness in Fighting.

Yeah. I but I don't really think Sylveon will be the dragon though. I mean dragons have fangs and claws and she has bows. All of the Eeveelutions look like the type they are (just look at Leafeon!) so I don't think Game Freak will pull another Altaria type of situation this time.

Personally, I'm rooting for Normal.

I heard there's going to be 2 new types: Sound and Light and I thouth Sylveon would be 1 of those but I'm starting to think its flying.

The thing about the light and sound types is people have been saying they will come out since Gen ll made Dark and Steel as counters to the overly powered Psychic and Dragon types. The types are all perfectly balanced and have been since. Plus, Amphoros, Exploud, Hyper Voice, Solar Beam ect. would all go through the hassle of retyping. Sorry guys, they aren't happening!

Plus, Dark type is Evil type in japanese like dishonorable fighting (Bite/ illegal in marshal arts, Pursuit/ Chasing an opponent off guard ect.) Fighting is like the 'good' type because it's like saying cheaters never win.

I believe Sylveon will be a normal type, given how Chansey, Clefairy, Jigglypuff, Audino, Ditto, and Skitty are all pink, and ALL normal type.
I highly doubt that it will be a flying type since nothing about it looks like a flying pokemon. It has no wings, and if they were going to make a flying Eevee, no doubt they would have given it Graceful and Glamorous feathers.

No there not! Light type has just been a rumor since gen II years ago. Just because Dark and Steel types were made to be counter the over powered Psychic and Dragon. The type effectiveness has been okay ever since. Dark is Evil type in Japanese, the 'good' type is Fighting. Plus, almost every old move and pokemon (Amphoros and signal beam are a few examples) would have to go through a retyping process.

That's exactly what I was thinking when I first saw Sylveon! I'm still not gonna stick to a "It's this type and everyone else is stupid" mindset though. I like seing other people's arguments on what they think. It's interesting to see why people think it's a dragon.

yeah, i agree with the flying type idea. i mean, it just has that look to it that says: 'i'm a flying type'

It may be a new type, uno like dark and steel pokemon in gen2 so I'm guessing it may be a light type.
