very nice, I like the background texture however maybe a complementary color might accent the bird better or create a sense of depth. STAR!

I thought that the background highlights your subject with the empty method, a spot small suggestion: )

thank you. _ _ _ actually I considered to make a different background for a moment, but I found the photo background contrasting enough and every other colour (like green (too summerly), grey or white or black (too desaturated), blue (not contrasting with the bird), cyan or yellow (too bright), ocker (too.. etc) seemed to fit worse. I think the reddish colour gives the picture an additional warmth that contrasts well with the snow... but I will keep that in mind for future pictures. Thank you :)

Very nicely done! I think the background looks fine and it contrasts well with the blue on the bird, which really gives the focus where it should--the bird.

I liked this enough that I downloaded it to my iPhone. Very nice work. And watching the painting process and the way the you imagined the bird's feet sunk into the snow was very creative. Mad props.
