I understand that u guys r mad about the fee, but u can share ur flipnotes with ur friends 4 free, SO GET SOME FRIEND CODES. also, the fee is really not that bad because all of those spammers, false reporters, star beggars, stealers, etc are lil kids, and its really not likely for them to pay the monthly fee.

and the reason it has a fee now is because of the actual HATENA company. Hatena's contract with nintendo is going to expire soon, and they no longer want to work with nintendo because they arent making enough money, thats why its not called "Flipnote Hatena" anymore.

I hope there are more colours than black, blue and red this time :)

im really dissapointed. you have to pay a monthly fee to post in the community. although there is another smaller community that is made up of everyone from your friends list, and that is free, i still know it wont be the same, there are many people out there who dont have enough money to pay the fee. And i was hoping this community would be better, i loved the early days on the DSi. Those servers on the origonal hat3na will be down May 21 i belive, and thats a sad thought. mehhhhh /rant

I'm really looking forward to it ^-^ but I've never used flipnote before so I'm expecting loads of "rage quits" xDDD

I am super excited for it to come out. It is awesome that it has 6 colors instead of 4. But it only has 3 layers. I would like it to have 4 but whatever it's still going to be awesome.

It's about time! I've been waiting for so long! I sold my DSi so I could buy a 3DS and sadly I sold all of my animations with it. I'm so happy to finally be able to make animations again! I really enjoy drawing on Colors and interacting with everyone but for me animating is even better. :)

Ive never had a dsi before but my fourteen (fifteen?)yr. old aunt played hatena and she told me it was amazing so if school decides to let out ill get FSthreeD (good thing im in fourth quarter)

There is no exact release date yet and the reason the Worldwide Gallery has a monthly fee is to pay for the servers. If they didn't, Nintendo would pay for it for us. They already let us use Swapnote for free. If your Flipnotes get consistently high ratings, you won't have to pay the monthly fee. Sharing Flipnotes with friends online will also be free.

im a stong guy...but ive got tears of joy(tear)! i had it on a dsi, then when it broke...i was SOOO upset!! flipnote internet was like the comuni to the tee!!!!
my fav note was the stick fig singin, "the krusty krab pizza"(good episode of spong bob too XD)

I really hope people will learn their lesson and not mess this app up..
I really loved Flipnote Hatena until everybody started getting cheap and unoriginal and posting animations with little to no effort.. and those ipods just sitting there with today's "radio music" playing.

Sure, the app will be free, but the deal here is less kids will be able to post whatever they want on the Global Community unless they pay a monthly fee! Most of the kids wont have the money, so thats dandy!
And if they somehow DO pay the fee, itll be a waste for them. Theyll end up sticking with solely the Friend service of the app.
Luckily enough, Nintendo is rewarding those who get good rating on their flipnotes consistantly with free Global community service free of charge!

Now that this is actually a thing, can we make a group effort to stop making mock-up home menu screens for it?

Remember, people, you can still use the DSi version, just not Hatena. You can still upload your flips to YouTube and whatnot. Same goes for the 3DS version - you don't have to pay the monthly fee to use the gallery, you can just use an SD Card to upload your animations on the Web. You can even post them in the raw 3D format so that others can download them onto their 3DS and watch them in 3D. Not all hope is lost!

Good news is that Nintendo finally revealed an approximate release date. Bad news is that it's sometime in early August. -_-
