try playing a rpg such as dungeons and dragons with friends and record on a tape or write notes of funny happenings or cool adventures. i grew attached to my lvl 15 black guard (a knight of death) that my boyfriend helped me make. you will create a story for your character and roleplaying it will get you attached to it, as well as reaching out of your thinking response box.
