Story: In a land, far from the Pokemon regions today, Pokemon are born and raised to become fighters. These fighters are put in a trance immediately when born where can't use attacks regarding their mouth (crunch, flamethrower, etc.). They are supplied armor regarding their type and are trained to battle a certain enemy: themselves. I'll tell more later. I have to go now! ; )

Story (Cont.):
While they are born, their "darker" side is born at the same time. That side, known as "Antagonist", is "Protagonist"'s enemy--specifically in battle. From the start, both sides, which have recieved training, fight it out until one goes down--by being pinned down. They keep battling each year until they evolve. At that point, both sides fight till death, which usually occurs to both sides. The sides become immortal, show kindness and respect and their spirits roam.
In the land, fully-evolved Pokemon (Charizards, Typhlosions, etc.) are considered legends. One who does evolve that far gains respect from the warriors of the same type as them. If they come in contact with armor or weaponry used by the Protagonist or Antagonist, they absorb the power of that equipment, becoming strong and powerful warriors. Again, that rarely occurs.

Scortch (Protag.): My sword's name is Infernity. When in battle, it's blade is consumed in flames and I gain strength and power from it. My "Antagonist" side's strength is 50/50 with me and fighting styles make a big difference in battle.
Those who try to stop a battle with "Protagonist" and "Antagonist" are immediately put to death--by those who are fighting. Usually, our the armor is removed, revealing our areas that were covered by our armor. Both sides say a chant, gather power, and unleash that power to the preventer of our battle--which can be quite devastating. It's rare, but if the preventer can handle our fury, we fight with power still surging through us and we use our swords. If that fails, hand-to-hand combat, which is usually the last resort. If that fails, we combine, with our sword and hand-to-hand combat.
