I feel ya... The stylus isn't like a pen or a pencil, so it feels completely different. I'm so much better at drawing on paper...

I draw a lot of paper on 3ds because I have more precision and can exercice more or less pressure on a pencil while on Colors3D, it is more different because it works by pixel. So you need a little change your way of drawing using layers as sketches by regulating your opacity in 1/3. You must also enlarge when you draw to own. Take your time to do :)
