Basically there's seven tribes of dragons. A war between all the tribes except two has been going on for about 18 years because three sisters Blister, Blaze and Burn are fighting to be queen of the sandwings. Theres a prophecy that says five young dragons hatched on the brightesr night, each from different tribes will stop the war, so a group called the talons of peace steals five eggs from different tribes that are due to hatch on the brightest night. The five dragons are raised by three other dragons in a cave, and one day they escape. Other dragons are after them to mess with the prophecy because they want to keep the war going for fun. Sorry its so long a lot happens in the book lol.
