Guns aren't the issue. Its the generation of training kids to think guns are toys, and its okay to use anger as a weapon. Banning the guns to solve a mentality problem makes as ,uch sense as burning paper to save trees.

If you're going to compare to Australia's gun ban, then you should also lool at Mexico; it's close to impossible for anyone to get a gun legally, and look at their 'Death-by-gun' rates are. It has nothing to do with gun laws. Then, look at Sw[e]eden(? I think it's Sw[e]eden...) were every male over the age of 18 (I think) is required by law to own a semi-auto. Now, look at their crime rates! Lowest in the world!

No guns in non-military hands worldwide would be a smart idea. It was ok while you, america, was young because you needed guns to defend yourself and families from bears and such. Now you can use them to defend yourself against an unarmed mugger, shooting them dead, or against a teenage kid sneaking in your daughter's window because they have a secret affair going, shooting him dead. There have even been numerous incidents of people k.illing spouses because they thought they were intruders. The muggings wont lessen with guns, the thugs will simply get a bigger gun than you, it's always been that way, it will always be that way. After Australia's gun ban crime rates increased, including home invasions, robberies, and homicide. Criminals do not obey laws and it seems unlikely that a gun ban will truly remove every assault rifle from American criminals, it would certainly take away the the 2nd ammendment rights of every law-abiding citizen though. The 2nd ammendment serves a broader purpose anyway. I understand your fear of tragedy but do more research before speaking out. You may find that you've made a knee-jerk reaction statement without considering the big picture. Crimes are committed with various implements (many of which are either currently illegal or would be impossible to outlaw). Better security measures and active steps taken by police to help citizens in their defense against criminals may be a better (and possibly) the only solution.

I have no use for guns, but do have friends that hunt with them 'responsibly'. The incidents that have taken place (worldwide - not just U.S.A.) always involve a perpetrator with an absent or uninvolved father - boys need a loving, responsible male figure in their lives or they more than likely will choose unacceptable releases for frustrations in life that they have no idea how to deal with.
