Live or die? Most people say that's a writer's prerogative. Still, stories can take on a life of their own, can't they? There's nothing wrong with throwing a little bit of reallity into a situation.
Maybe people can learn something from a tragedy .... It's much better than having to learn it in real life. Fewer people will get injured that way.
