I was surfing through some screenshots on Minecraft Wiki, and I noticed a green p i c k a x e with lighter and darker bits. Could there truely be new emerald tools coming to Minecraft? Tell me what you think in the comments!

There arn't any emerald tools planned for minecraft at the momment. When asked jeb has said that emeralds are going to be exclusivly for trading, not for tools and armour. The rumours of this may have come about from a few lines in the code. In the Enumtoolmaterial file, diamond is refered to as 'EMERALD' (I can confirm this, as i am a mod creator and have looked through a majority of the code), this is because in early builds of what is now called classic mode, diamonds were called emeralds in the code, though not many people know of this because items didn't have name tags in early builds of minecraft.

i knew they were called emeralds, but the pick i saw was GREEN. there is some new tool/gem being implimented that means.
