She's My Mare by dorianator
One day Nathan was out in the forest near Fluttershy's house, wandering around looking for a nice spot to relax. After a while, he ran into a pond and found Fluttershy sitting near the edge. He had been admiring her from afar and was waiting to spend some quality time, so now was his chance. He softly spoke to get her attention. It startled her a bit, but she reconized him. They sat together for a while and talked.

After a while a bird flittered in from a tree. It quickly caught Fluttershy's eye and she held out her hoof, calling to the bird. Almost instantly, the bird flew down and perched itself on her foreleg. Nathan was amazed that the bird wasn't frightened, but then he remembered Fluttershy's amazing gift with animals. Just then, she started to sing a lovely tune. Her voice sounded so pure and soft. As Nathan sat and listened, he realized he'd been staring at her the whole time! He started to nervously glance around, but it didn't look like she had noticed, so he just kept on staring. He couldn't tell, but he was blushing. Looks like somepony has a crush! Also, I can't help but think there is something familiar about that bird...

Actually, that bird IS supposed to resemble Mordecai! Good eye!
