The inspiration for my painting came from spirited away and the game 'journey', so you were right on one of them.
This painting... it's good, but your use of the layers looks sorta strange... and in the end it looks better in 2D... I can tell you put a lot of time in this though :)
I'm not sure if you're going for realisticly acceptable or if you're just doing this as a lighthearted piece, but if you wish to make this perfect then I reccomend you do a bit of studying with other artistis's techniques (Nipsu, Von Macabre, Munin, Basically all of the people in week's best) so you can perfect the shading, buildings, sky, sun, and sand.

Thats true. If its perfect to you then thats all that matters.
The layering looks strange to me in a way I find really hard to descripe... especially the last two layers, the people... eh its just really hard to say.
But as i've said before if its perfect to you, then theres no reason for me to give constructive feed back now. I dont really know how to explain it myself so its ok now. :)
