i hate it when people trace and get on weeks best and they don't even say they traced or don't give credit to the original. i hear that the colors update is going to include a trace filter.

uh the Update is to be so that they will have two galleries on the 3DS- A Standard Gallery- and an 18plus Gallery(which i dissagree with). They cant include a trace filter cuz how are they going to know u traced it?

Whoa! All these comments! I know what yall mean, though! But I gotta say, I never would have learned to draw if I hadn't traced first. But I never showed my traced art to anyone... I was too embarrassed to be tracing haha and smart enough to know it would be obviously traced :P

I trace a lot of my old work just to make it 3D and tracing colours helped me shade things correctly... but other than that my drawings are free hand. cool manic face!

Not giving credit is BAD. But traced art is a way to increase your drawing skills. But of course if all u do is traced art you won't learn much. I'm tracing art from tv shows, but not from some artist online. Except for some art from Spyro does a thing on youtube. But thats just cuz it was funny & I gave credit on the 1st line in the description. All of this other art about peoples views on subjects such as gay is actually worse. Its not art just a wasted selfish opinon.

Glad everyone else hates tracing! It's why I never post because it just gets flooded with new traced stuff in the new art section...

Reference = ok
Tracing = not ok

With a reference you look at it away from you. It's how we learn from life to draw onto paper/PC. Tracing however, teaches you nothing. You won't understand the shapes or how to differentiate the size down to paper/PC. It's the same as writing an essay. Copy-pasting material doesn't teach you anything!
