Wait a minute, people legitimately want Pichu back? I sort of thought of Pichu as a novelty character more than anything because I don't really see the point of using a character that hurts itself every time it attacks.

Nowhere did it say people wanted Pichu back.
It's just that MY story doesn't neglect having him around. For that matter, Roy and Mewtwo are included in the cast.
