Pony OCs, what not to do by Kittilot
-No alicorns(in most cases, it's not needed)
-no rainbow manes, wings or horns
-no neon colors. G4 has a pastel color palette.
-no accesories that seem modern (i.e., hoodies, earbuds, Apple products)
-tons and tons of hearts and stripes are unacceptable
-no characters that are related to main characters)
(Black and red alicorns with a dark past are the worst of the worst)
Most importantly:
KEEP IT SIMPLE!

Hey are you trying to insult my OC Rainbow Raindashshinebow? She´s an alicorn, the student of Rainbow Dash and is soon gonna be the fastest pony alive. Also she is super shy and nerdy. Oh and she loves to draw, that´s why she has a pencil for a cutie mark.

Or my other OC Darksoul Nightshadow, an alicorn who studied divine magic but then became too powerful and was banned from Canterlot. He has spent 25 years alone in Everfree Forest and has to resocialize now. But he can transform into his Super-Dooper-Mega-Alicorn-Form with 32 wings and the ability to shoot lazer beams out of his eyes!

OCs like this are the pony equivalent of sparkle dogs- same shit, different species! They look like an arts and crafts store EXPLODED. I love how your parody looks like it has teardrop prison tats, btw! Very appropriate, somehow.

To be honest, PART of my OC's cutie mark is a pencil. I know it's a little hypocritical, but the thing is I've seen pencils as cutie marks so many times. Not trying to insult anybody's OCs, you can make a pencil if you want, but it's been done a bajillion times. Nip it in the bud before you fall blindly in love with your OC. (everybody does at some point in time.)

I don't know if this is obvious or not: I don't use bases or references when drawing ponies. They come out show accurate because I've been drawing ponies for 2 years.

When you say related, I feel kinda bad. Just made an OC who's family has a history of working for Celestia...

Oh, that's different! I mean, it's pretty, but the mane color itself is a little distracting...Also, the hoof tattoos should probably be a different color.
