my first tracing by otacon
heres my attempt at tracing, i guess there's been some flak about tracing so i wanted to give it a shot and i gotta say it's not as easy as it looks if you really want to the picture you're tracing justice. this actually took a few hours and reminds me of hunter.s.thompson, a famous journalist who use to retype hemmingway on his typewriter word for word, until he felt he got the rythym of how to write and i feel this also applies for drawing :D #otaconpics

tracing for me though definitly not as fun as drawing ur self, but it was a good experience like i said before if you want to do the picture justice it does take a long time and not that easy

i was one who commented about tracing-i told a beginning artist that tracing was not the way to learn the craft, not that it wasn't hard to do. i said that if he was going to learn to draw & have his own style develop, then tracing was the wrong way to go about learning. so he started to get advice & lessons from great artists like you, lucsfd, etc.,& is now actually soaking up some knowledge & creating his own works. in the long run he will have more pride in that than in tracing.
