Sam's POV
I sit in the branches of a tall oak tree. The forest has been my home for the past twelve years, and I've done everything in my power to protect it. From my position, I see the entire empire of Draknos. Others see it as paradise, I see it as economics. I'm kinda a thief. I pillage the subjects, sell what I steal, make money and live. The city is in ruins. The powerful priminal brother's are no match for the Dark One's power. The city burns, and I will do anything and everything to stop it. Yeah I know, a thief or hero, pick one. Well I'm gonna be both. I grab my knife, my swords and my bow. No guns, I don't own any. I look up to the sky. Smoke covers most of it, but I can see the full moon. If I die, that's what I want to remember. I will feathery wings to sprout from my shoulders. That's one thing that makes me different. I'm a shape-shifter. I can control the elements too. Looking foward I see one of the castle towers fall and the Dark One's dragon form rises behind it. There wasn't much time. I launch myself from the tree, snapping my wings open and flying toward the kingdom. Looking down, all I see is chaos and terror. Swiveling my head, I see that the whole kingdom is in a state of terror. As I fly lower I have to dodge the flames that leap from building to building. BAM! A gun goes off, and I'm tackled to the ground, plucked from the sky. I quickly stand up, facing my savior. It's a light blue werehog. "Shock? Is that you?"

Cinos POV: My daughter Maria is sobbing in my arms as we run. Her older brother, shaken to his core does his best to comfort her while running. My husband, Inferno is living up to his name, char-coaling anything that's a threat to us. As we near the top of the hill where Shock is, we notice someone else is with him. "Look out!" They yelled, firing an arrow from a bow. The arrow flys next to my face and nails a skeleton behind me. All of us run faster. Soon we reach the top of the hill. Lealis is the one who fired the arrow. "Thank you both!" I exclaim to Shock and Lealis. "C'mon, to the forest! The won't follow us there!" Shock yells. The five of us sprint to the forest, the skeletons stopping. But, none of us stop until we reach the Great Oak. Many others are gathered here as well. "Why aren't they following us?" Lealis asked. "Sam, she protects the forest and It will protect her." Inferno answered. "Speaking of which, where is Sam?" "She went after him, the monster." Shock replied. "WHAT?! You didn't try to stop her?!" Inferno yelled. Shock hung his head. "She said she had unfinished buisness with it." "You idiot! That thing kil.led her family! She wants revenge! But she'll be kil.led, she's too weak!" Inferno fumed. My children watch as their father raves. "Look, we need to get her, now. She'll get herself kil.led! And, she's the only one that can help us in the forest. We need to go, now." Shock nodds. Inferno turns to me, Flameno, Maria and Lealis. "Stay here, keep yourself safe. We'll be back." I nod and watch as Inferno and Shock sprint off into the burning city.

Sam POV: My eyes are glazed over. Each breath is a a shudder that brings a racking pain to my chest. I'm covered in blo.od and I'm pretty sure my right ankle is broken. But, the monster has taken damage too. It laughs. "I can see why you are related to Rose. You have her spirit. Too bad that's what'll get you kil.led." He lunges foward and I barely have time to flip onto my back and thrust out my legs, sending him flying. I roar in defience. "You will pay for their deaths! Every one of them!" I fly foward, grabbing his neck with my claws. He laughs again, then coughs. "Heh, you've learned much, but not enough. The royal family is in my custody and you will be dead." He laughs as a dark aura explodes, flinging me away from him. Then, I am suddenly helpless as I'm grabbed and thrown into the dirt. I change back to my hadgehog form. The pain is unbearable now. All I can do is close my eyes any watch as my world goes black from the crater I've left. All I think about was how I failed. I failed my parents, my friends, myself. Maybe I was drea.ming when I heard this, but I heard a feminine voice whisper one word into my brain before I go unconscious: Fay.
