(Yes, there's a prologue, deal with it!)
Narrator/me: A long time ago, before Sonic and Tails and Knuckles and Eggman, before all of that, there was a small black hedgehog. His name? Fay. He was your average hedgehog. Didn't have any siblings, no pets, and followed a girl named Rose around like a love-sick puppy. Rose didn't mind Fay, in fact, they were pretty good friends. They hung out and enjoyed life. Time passed and they got older. Pretty soon it was senior year in highschool. Rose was now being followed by more than Fay, but she stuck with him, until one day...

History was boring, as usual. Fay was tapping his foot impatiently and chewing his pencil, barely paying attention to what the teacher was saying. His eyes started to close partially, and his head started to nod. "Fay, Faaaaay, FAY!" The teacher yelled. "Huh, what?" Fay asked, still partially asleep. The class started laughing, they always did. Everyone except Rose. Fay was the oddball, the freak, and he hated it. Who cared that he was different! Well, actually everybody except Rose. Even his parents thought he was a freak. "Fay, I'm sure nap was wonderful, but could you tell me who this is?" The teacher pointed to the board. Luckily, Fay knew the answer. "King Naleum." "Correct. King Naleum, the first hedgehog, or any creature to ever almost achieve world domination." Fay's eyes lit up. He had always wondered how the King got so close. He was no physical wonder, not a genius, wasn't the most handsome, and by the looks of it, his personality didn't help him one bit. It seemed like Fay was a lot like the King. Maybe he could learn from him.

"Alright class, from this moment on, everything you learn must be kept to yourself. You must never breath a word of this to anyone. You must also promise not to seek this power." "We promise." The class echoed. Everyone had promised, but, one hedgehog had his fingers crossed behimd his back. A hedgehog with black fur and the name of Fay. The teacher's gaze swept across the room, then he nodded. "Ok, let's begin. When the King was no older than you, his quest began. He was an outsider, considered a freak. But, he was the smartest of all. He had created a machine that would focus and contain the dark energy of the world. But, when his parents found this machine, they ordered it destroyed. He refused, and so his rein was set into motion. Now, the king had a sister, Madelyn. One night, the police took her, they ordered the machine destroyed for his sisters life. Well, the police lied. They had kil.led Madelyn while keeping her captive. This drove the King over the edge. He broke his machine, absorbing the dark power he had created. He went on a rampage, kil.ling his sister's captors. Through this, he realized he had complete and utter power over the darkness, and could raise the dead. He also found he could feed off of other's darkness. But, a small group of brave animals stood up to him. They defeated him, sending the darkness back to its original home, the machine." BRRRRIIINGGGGG The bell roared. "Ok class, school's over, go home." "Fay! Over here!" Fay turned and saw Rose waving to him. "C'mon, let's go!" The pair of hedgehogs walked outside, unprepared for what they saw. "Fay look! It's snowing!"

Very interesting can't wait for rest

Fay ducked, then stood up. His house was destroyed. Everything was smashed, broken or burning. He ran throughout the house. "Mom, Dad?! Where are you?" He found them in the kitchen. His father, dead. His mother, almost dead. He ran to her side. "Wha-what happened?" Fay asked, on the verge of tears. He ran to her side, cradling her head in his hands. "Th-the kids, jocks as you call them. Wanted to ki.ll you, got here too early. Set off bomb. Got us instead. S-so sorry. Wanted to stop them. Too weak. Couldn't save ourselves. J-just remember something. Your f-father and I l-love you. Don't forget that. Don't give in to the machine. Just remember, I-I llllove y-you." Then, Fay's mother took the last breath she ever would. "NOOOOOOO!" Fay yelled, soobbing. "I'll make them pay, every single one of them!" He yelled, tears sliding down his face. Unknow to Fay, a change was taking place. Also unknown to Fay, the King's machine was under his house, storing dark energy that wanted to be unleashed, and Fay was unleashing it. He was drawing it in, absorbing it. Shuddering sobs turned into evil laughter. He opened his eyes, they were now red. Claws, a tail and bat-like wings were also new. Fay was now half-dragon. He laughed, examining his new form. "Hah, they will pay. Every one of them."
