I'm so with you on this! Colors just broke 2-3 months after 3DS release. It was sooo amazing back then, when there was only the DS. The only things you saw was amazing artwork. But that's prbably because only good artist got it, because it wasn't easy to get. But now here are little kids who are uploading 1 minute drawings, many tracers who are just drawing for likes (not even improving the original drawing) and other stuff which is just not worth the time. And I feel like all the good Colors DS artist are not there because there is too much and good stuff often just sinks under the waves of .. crap, happened to some of my pictures. I for my part spent sometimes 5 up to 10 hours on one drawing. And all I get are a few likes. But all these tracers are getting top ranked -.-. You did an amazing Job on this picture and you are totally right. To some it may seem like this was made for likes but this is just the bloody truth. We are fighting and hopefully the announced update will better somethings :) thanks for reading^^

I wholeheartedly agree. I love Colors. The popularity system is flawed, but that's the way it is. I am bothered by people who rely enrirelt on tracing, but also by those who think of themselves as above others for not using the tracing feature and criticize those who trace. We're all artists here, and what we need is support and encouragement, not belittlement and angry insults.
I try to do my part in supporting other people's work, even if they aren't fantastic. The hardest is to not get frustrated when my work doesn't get noticed while so many others do, but I'll do my best.

All this is quite true! Unfortunately, humans are greedy, selfish, covetous creatures by nature. It is hard to fight our natures, but such a worthy cause! It would make everyone so much happier if we could all just stop being so base.

I like the 3D-version, but there are so many crappy pictures out there. ;__;
I don`t want to see crappy stick figuresdoing...things..or points on a white screen, which will go popular. D:

I agree it on being flawed, as my first silver star came from a dot. And I find it weird how people like something, because of it's artist. No offence to TCG, but when he drew the picture that simply said artists block, it almost made it onto the Best Ranked

Yes, it certainly made these popularity issues pretty noticible. But I think I will make an extra-upload about the dot... it´s something that many people apparently can´t seem to get over and that needs to be talked about if we ever want to grow as a community...

Not to mention when you don't trace things/ steal art, and people claim you DO.....

This is what the gallerys turned to? This gallery used to be good... but now it's almost dead from hate...

To Simply Put It, Agree. I Try To Check Colors As Often As I Can Cause I Enjoy Seeing Others Artwork.

What needs to happen is more ways to see art, not just TWB, next update should have this months best, color's choice, and a better rating system where we can give up to three to five stars in each category, from creativity, to art value. Hope the update comes soon.

[Yoshi Ringo] Unfortunately, they've been promising an update since at least early to mid-summer, so don't hold yer breath. I've given up on one coming out since the fall update failed to happen. Hope is wasted on things like that...

^ I agree with the person above me, and with this picture. Also, there should be multiple pages in the new paintings, so artist's paintings wouldn't get pushed away so easily, never to be seen again. There should also be a way to follow artists that you like, and a major spam filter and/or mods making sure to get rid of spam.

The news about the update Collecting Smiles released so far looked promising enough to me. And even though I´m pretty certain they wont get it released this year, it certainly wont take more than a month from what I´ve seen. But IMO we can´t blame the flaws of the system on everything here. We need to change our mentality too and that´s what I´d like to start with, even now, before the update.

[Jessicalola] You know, if you see someone uploading illegal content like that, you should report them. Just email support@collectingsmiles.com (the most reliable address for getting help, I've found) and tell them the username of the offender and what they're doing.

Also, whatever your other opiinions on TCG may be, I can assure you that his work isn´t child po.rn XD I know how fetish art looks like and this isn´t.

I agree with everything jessicalola said. But the best thing to do is ignore those people they will never change and confronting them will only cause more trouble. People always tell cruzitos to tone it down but he never does. Months ago some guy told TCG to quit uploading his child abuse but he still does them. People everyday upload perverse drawings this place is not for that these people should be considerate of children. However everyone is free to do what they want and the best thing to do is ignore them and report them if they cross the line.

As far as I remember did the cartoon guy some really weird things which would count under child porn. He got banned once, so I think that says it all.

If you want to talk about the dot I´ve made an upload just about that. I think it´s something we need to get over first...

I find it especially sad that some people whom I consider to be great artists use these tactics. Even more sad is that most of thier artwork wouldn´t have been seen if they didn´t cheat because it´s nearly impossible to get to week´s best by just passing New Paintings and they don´t upload frequently enough to have a large following...

This is a pretty good moral. Most people only want others to like them. There will always be compitition, but we need to keep respectful, acnowledge other artists.

It is really sad that no comments are left except 'nice work, check my gallery'. The older members of the community as well as the popular ones should be setting an example especially as an influx of users should come after christmas.

I go on the 'new paintings' page all the time because otherwise I won't see anything- well... new. The only thing that puts me off is the usual spammed commons that we always get... (eg: Need GF, FC Please Add Me, Like This, And so on...)

As an artist who actually takes her work seriously, I feel that in the short time that I've been here, no matter how hard you work on a piece, no one seems to care. Don't get me wrong, I have met some nice people on here, but for the most part I feel that I don't belong here. I'm probally one of the very few people over 18 on this site. I also like to look at art that didn't make weeks best because I think a lot of art is good and original. Though sadly a lot of really good artist get drowned out by either tracers or people who only draw what's popular at the moment for likes. I personally want to be inspired and grow as an artist, but I feel like the only way anyone would take notice is if I ''sellout''. I loathed that idea with a passion.

[cocoabeane] Unfortunately Colors3D doesn't really nurture a creative spirit... But if you pander to it's tastes just once, to get people's attention, you may get more likes on future pictures. If you don't mind briefly compromising your artistic integrity...
