Enchanted Forest by alexphillips
I wanted to try out using a distant light source and then as i painted, trees began to appear and then I ended up with this! I added the butterfly/fairy thing as a point of interest, although I'm not sure it stands out woo well.

The Butterfly was a nice idea,but you should rework the Rays of light a bit more,with a bit stronger Color..or brighter i should say. So that the ground is more a light brown,and let the butterfly stand in such a ray. Would be perfect standing out in my opinion :)

You're right-I had the brightness on my DS up too high, which is why it came out duller than it looked on my screen :( I'll take it into Photoshop and make some corrections, add some detail and your suggestions, I can see in my mind what you mean, perhaps give the butterfly thing its own ray of light that stands out; it looks better in my head already lol. alexphillips you are welcome ! I am always glad if someone points something out at my paintings. Seems at times I am to close to the pic to see whats missing :) Would like to see your finished work of this painting when done,please post the link :)
