There is a deeper meaning to this. Mr. Cuddles is Gacroon's brother. Gacroon was obviously adopted. The brothers were just orphaned due to the Sprite-Shadow Outbreak. More and more sprites are being corrupted and turned evil. Don't worry. By the time you're bored with the series it will have a happy ending and I'll start something else.
