my friend..victor hugo wrote this story in 1862, and it has been filmed and acted on stage numerous times. ive seen it both as movies and as an opera. what u mean to say is that there is a new movie version comming out on xmas day. i did not know that, but welcome the news. The song, obviously, was well-known long before u heard Susan Boyle do her decent-but-not-great version of it.

true it has been adapted many times, and i have been a fan of the musical for years, because ive studies musical theatre being an actor, way before susan boyle, so im not a bandwagon fan.
