Great paint! I wanted to do something like this a while back but I never got to do it. Nice smoke in the high right corner, by the way!

While this is a patriotic shot with what could be a b-52 drop to US men, it was actually based on a black and white WW2 photograph of a Junkers 52 taking off with Soviet forces in the shot, sometime in western Russia during the German/Russian theater.

Continuing, the air drop was added in for dramatic effect, while the fog of war was in the original, but to a lesser degree. Hope you enjoyed the backstory.
