Tabster, in order to give you advice that you might be happy with, I feel I would have to know what goals you have as an artist. What frustrates you? Where do you think your strengths are? Right off of the bat,I can tell that you don't trace, so good job on that account.

ChibiPanda, Kathe Kollwitz does have an 'ape-like' appearance in a lot of her self-portraits. I actually feel that I captured ger likeness fairly well (for a sketch). Thank you for visiting my gallery and for giving me your compliments. I do enjoy your work, especially your black-and-white portraits. I look forward to seeing more.

I didn't gather from your comment that you were being rude. I actually thought she looked ape-like in another piece I did of her. Moral of the story: great minds think alike - yes? :-)
